Monster Hunter Outlanders Characters

Monster Hunter Outlanders calls its characters adventurers. Guides list 14 so far, plus the Fated Adventurer you create at the start. Each adventurer uses one weapon type and one element. Below is every one, with what the main tier lists say about them. We haven't measured damage ourselves, so the ratings are other guides' opinions, dated.

Every adventurer

Rarity, weapon and element come from our weapons list, which follows GameWith's adventurer list. Freya is listed by Game8 but unranked, and third-party trackers tie her to a banner that hasn't been confirmed. See current banners.

Best characters to use

As your main adventurer, Game8's November 3 list puts Midori, Keres and Luka at S, with the Fated Adventurer. Keres is the steadiest pick across lists: A or better in most, with one B.

As squadmates, the picks change. Madelyn, Pepper, Haze and Luxheart rate S as squad support in Game8's list, even though Madelyn is only C as a main. If you only look at one letter per character, you miss this.

The lists don't agree on everything: Midori runs from SS to B, and Arkaya from S to B. The tier list comparison shows all five lists side by side.

Free characters

Guides say Luka and Pyro are free to obtain, and you always have your Fated Adventurer, so you can clear early content without pulling. Luka also rates S as a main in Game8's list, which makes a reroll less necessary than it looks.

Picking a team for a monster

Match your adventurers' elements to what the monster is weak to. Check the monster list or the weakness chart, then try the team in the build planner. Before you spend on a banner, the pity calculator shows your real odds.
