Monster Hunter Outlanders Tier List: 5 Guides Compared

Quick answer

No single tier list is reliable yet, because no damage data has been published. Across five lists, Keres and Luka rate well almost everywhere, Midori ranges from SS to B, and supports like Madelyn and Arkaya rate far higher as squadmates and in earlier lists. This page compares them. It isn’t our own ranking.

We don't publish our own ranking, because nobody has released reliable damage numbers, and we haven't measured any. Instead, here's what other guides say side by side, with their dates. Where they all agree, you can be more confident. Where they don't, it's an opinion.

Monster Hunter Outlanders adventurer tier list, compared

Adventurer	Game8 main	Game8 squad	GameWith reroll	Mobi.gg	LDPlayer	Wiki
Midori	S	B	SS	S	B	T2
Keres	S	A	A	B	A	T1
Luka	S	B	C (free)	S	A	T1
Fated Adventurer	S	A	–	–	–	–
Pepper	A	S	S	C	B	T2
Haze	A	S	–	A	–	–
Luxheart	A	S	C	S	–	–
Raya	A	A	–	B	B	T2
Ryunosuke	A	A	C	B	–	–
Arkaya	B	A	S	A	S	T0
Rhodes	B	B	B	A	–	–
Pyro	B	C	C (free)	A	A	T1
Madelyn	C	S	–	S	S	T0
Ouyang Varen	C	C	–	A	A	T1

A dash means that list doesn't rate them. The Wiki's T0 is its highest tier. Game8 also lists Freya as unranked. Element and weapon for each adventurer are on our weapons list.

How much weight should each list get?

List	Date	What it's based on
Game8	November 3, 2026	Damage, utility and versatility, rated separately for your main adventurer and for squadmates
GameWith	November 1, 2026	Value as a reroll target, not overall strength
Mobi.gg	October 28, 2026	Overall effectiveness, regardless of role
LDPlayer	October 26, 2026	Damage uptime, team synergy, monster control and versatility. Published before launch
mhoutlanders.wiki	Undated	Its own label says provisional, inferred from pre-release mechanics, not measured

We'd lean on the lists from after launch on October 29. Older ones may still be useful, but they couldn't have tested the live game.

What the lists agree on

Your role changes the answer. Game8 rates Madelyn C as a main adventurer and S as a squadmate. Pepper, Haze and Luxheart also rise as squadmates, while Midori and Luka fall. A single letter for each character hides this.
Keres rates well. Keres gets an A or better in most lists, with one B.
Rhodes sits in the middle. Most lists that rate Rhodes put them around B.
Ouyang Varen is the widest surprise among SRs. Game8 says C both ways, while older lists say A or T1.

Where they disagree

Midori runs from SS to B. The two lists from after launch rate Midori highly, at least as a main adventurer, while the pre-launch LDPlayer and Wiki lists do not. That matters if you're deciding whether to pull.

Arkaya runs from S to B. Older lists favor the character's support value, while Game8 rates Arkaya B as a main adventurer and A as a squadmate.

Best weapons for the Fated Adventurer

We only found one weapon ranking we could read in full, so treat this as one site's opinion. GameWith also has one that we couldn't read.

Tier	Weapons, per Grindnstrat (October 30)
S	Long Sword, Heavy Bowgun, Charge Blade
A	Great Sword, Bow, Dual Blades
B	Hammer, Lance

It weighs damage, versatility and ease of use. See our weapons list for which adventurers use each one.

How to actually choose

Decide who you'll control yourself. Pick main adventurers by the main column, and fill your squad using the squad column.
Match the monster. An element advantage is something you can check. See the weakness chart and build planner.
Don't spend because of one letter. Check your odds first with the pity calculator.

We'll update this as guides revise their lists. If damage data gets published, we'll say so here.
