"Why is there not a PC version?" is one of the most common complaints about this game, and "will it be on PC?" gets searched every month. Here's where things stand.
Is there an official PC version?
No, there is no official Monster Hunter Outlanders PC version. The official site lists iOS and Android. Capcom's release notice describes the platform as "Mobile devices (iOS/Android)". We found no official statement promising a PC client.
Is it on Steam, Switch, PlayStation or Xbox?
| Platform | Available? |
|---|---|
| iPhone and iPad | Yes |
| Android | Yes |
| Windows or Mac client | No official version |
| Steam | No |
| Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 | No |
| PlayStation or Xbox | No |
Be wary of sites offering a "PC version" download. With no official client, any such file is a third party's. Download only from official stores.
Will it come to PC later?
We don't know. Nobody has announced it, so anything else is speculation. We'll update this page if that changes.
What about emulators?
Android emulator makers are advertising this game heavily, and that's most of what you'll find if you search for it. We haven't tested any, and we don't recommend one.
Read the rules before you try. The game's user agreement bars "unauthorized third-party programs that intercept, emulate, or redirect any communication", and lists "emulation" among the add-on services it prohibits, alongside mods, hacks and bots. It doesn't name Android emulators such as BlueStacks, so we can't tell you exactly how it applies to them. Only the publisher can. Since your account is what's at stake, we'd treat it as a real risk.
Some players avoid the question by casting their phone's screen to a larger display, which leaves the game running on the phone.
Does Monster Hunter Outlanders support controllers?
Yes. The official site lists controller support. There's a catch reported by at least one player on a handheld device: the tutorials are written for touch screens, so you may need to work out some of the button prompts for yourself.
Device requirements
- Official recommendation: iOS 17 or later, or Android 12 or later, with 6 GB of RAM or more.
- App Store minimum: iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later.
- Download size on the App Store: 3.6 GB. Expect more with updates.
The App Store minimum is lower than the official recommendation. A phone that can install the game may still struggle. See our lag and crash guide.
