Quick answer
It’s free to download, and you can earn contracts by playing, but SSR characters come from a gacha and that’s the main complaint. A guaranteed pickup is 120 pulls, or 18,000 Rutacoin if bought outright. Only five days of launch data exist, so nobody can yet say how much spending matters late in the game.

The short answer
It has clear pay-to-win worries, and it's too early to measure them. Characters come from a gacha and differ in strength, and players have called that out since the betas. On the other hand, you earn contracts by playing, the pity rules are published, and weapons are reported to stay out of the gacha.
What the game sells
Here's the US App Store list, as read on November 3, 2026:
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| 60 Crimson Plume Coins | $0.99 |
| 300 Crimson Plume Coins | $4.99 |
| 980 Crimson Plume Coins | $14.99 |
| 1,280 Crimson Plume Coins | $19.99 |
| 1,980 Crimson Plume Coins | $29.99 |
| 6,480 Crimson Plume Coins | $99.99 |
| Subscription | $4.99 |
| Pot of Harvests | $9.99 |
| Pot of Festivities | $19.99 |
What a character costs
A contract costs 150 Rutacoin. So:
| Goal | Pulls | Rutacoin if all bought |
|---|---|---|
| Even odds of a pickup | 80 | 12,000 |
| Average for a first copy | About 85 | About 12,750 |
| Guaranteed first copy | 120 | 18,000 |
| Even odds of two copies | About 180 | About 27,000 |
Those pull counts are exact results from the pity calculator, starting fresh. We haven't confirmed how Crimson Plume Coins convert into Rutacoin, so we won't turn this into dollars. You also get free contracts, so few players pay for all of these.
What you can earn without paying
GameWith lists 29 Standard Contracts from Adventurer Rank rewards and 20 Featured Contracts from season rank rewards, plus weekly quests, exchanges, Free Hunt first clears and events. See the contracts guide. Whether that adds up to a guaranteed pickup on each banner depends on how long banners run and how fast you play, and we don't have enough data yet.
What players are saying
These are opinions from the first days, not measurements. They come from app reviews, Reddit, X and YouTube comments.
Common complaints
- Reviewers say it feels like a gacha first and Monster Hunter second, and that armor has lost importance.
- Japanese reviewers point out that character strength varies, and that prices feel high compared with similar games.
- Others object to the Energy system and to the number of purchase pop-ups.
Common defenses
- Some players argue you don't really need SSR characters, and ask whether your main character can solo content.
- Store ratings are still high, at 4.8 on the US App Store and 4.6 on Google Play as of November 3.
What we don't know yet
We can't tell you yet how hard late content is without SSR characters, how often strong new characters arrive, or how arenas and leaderboards will reward spending. Beta testers worried about that last one. We'll update this page when there's real data, not just early impressions.
How to play without overspending
- Decide on your target before pulling. The pull or save planner shows the trade-offs.
- Remember the odds are poor before pull 74 and improve fast after it.
- Be wary of top-up sites and account sellers, which we don't link to or recommend.
